This is an in-person and live-stream workshop.

Are you considering starting a business or have a new business startup but do not know where to begin? Are you wondering which business structure is right for your business? Upon completion, participants will have the option to sign up for ongoing one-on-one business consulting as a client of the SBDC provided at no additional cost. 

Taking the initial to start or grow your business can be daunting, but the Duquesne University SBDC will help you create a strong business plan so you know the exact steps needed to create a strong business start-up!

During the duration of this workshop, the key topics will be covered such as:

  • Business registration
  • Insurance
  • Startup funding
  • Taxes
  • Major Components of the Business Plan
  • Financial Statements & Projections
  • DBE, WMBE, and LGBTBE minority business certifications opportunities

This interactive workshop will be essential for new entrepreneurs and business startups to understand the first step of starting a new business.

All people will receive a Certificate of Completion with attendance to the workshop and checking off the sign-in sheet.

After completion,  participants  can choose to become a client of the SBDC and receive one-on-one ongoing business consulting to help their businesses start, grow and prosper.  Consulting services will be provided virtually or on-site for no fee to participants.
