Recognizing more than 1,000 SBDCs across the nation that support small businesses!
Sixty-plus years ago the Federal Government came to realize the importance of the small business community on the overall economic development of the nation. Since the creation of the Small Business Administration (SBA), thousands of small businesses have been assisted in either start-up, growth, exit and or technology commercialization. Not having the luxury nor discretionary revenue to seek traditional business consultation, small businesses have used the services of the SBA provided by the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) to start, grow and prosper.
The Duquesne University SBDC is proud of its 43-year history and successful track record in assisting in the economic development of the small business community in the Western PA Counties it serves.
Small Business day on March 20th is a time to recognize the risk, efforts, and passion put forth by small business entrepreneurs. As a former business owner, myself I know full well the risk, uncertainty, and challenges faced. That said, I would not have changed it for the world. Yes, there is a risk. But how sweet the reward! Please join me in congratulating the small business community on this special day of recognition, and remember, SHOP SMALL BUSINESS.
